Raspet Flight Lab – Mississippi State University

Part of the Aerospace Engineering School at Mississippi State University, the Raspet Flight Research Lab is located at the Bryan Municipal Field in Starkville, MS, 122 miles south of the TAP region.

Tax Incentives for the Aerospace Industry

Mississippi Aerospace Initiative Incentives Program

This program specifically for aerospace-related businesses locating or expanding in the state includes the following incentives:

  • 10-year franchise tax exemption
  • 10-year income tax exemption
  • Sales and use tax exemption for facility start-up


  • Manufacturer or assembler of aerospace components
  • Research, development or training service provider
  • Minimum investment of $30 million
  • Minimum creation of 100 full-time jobs

Tax Incentives for National or Regional Headquarters

Companies establishing a regional or national headquarters in Mississippi can receive tax credits to reduce state income tax liability and/or a sales and use tax exemption.

National or Regional Headquarters Tax Credit

The incentive includes

  • Between $500-$2,000 per position in credits
  • Up to 5-year period


  • Must meet headquarters classification
  • Minimum creation of 35 qualified jobs within one year period
